Call for contributions for open meeting.

ISLE Updates

Danny says he and Nigel have been doing foundation work to get ready for an ISLE release. There is now an automated build process to create images based on commits as they come in.

Moving from Travis to GitHub actions

Islandora repository is now running on GitHub actions. Danny reports that it feels faster than with Travis. Other repositories to be transitioned in near future.

Eli suggests continuing to support Drupal 8.9.x, likely can be done but Danny not committing just yet.

Captions

The implementation that Eli did is a single field for the caption file on the audio and video media types. Seth raised issue of multiple caption files for multiple languages.

Modelling this is an open question.

Seth says simple solution is to make the fields repeatable.

There isn't much activity in the wider Drupal world around supporting translated field files.

Rosie raises point that we would not want to force a site to be milt-language site-wide to just support multiple language captions in a media file.

Discussion of whether to move forward with the PR as-is. How long do we want to wait for the Drupal patch?

Rosie offers reminder of users who will have lots of data that we should consider not being too disruptive towards.

This patch is slated for Drupal 9.2, expected release date June 16, 2021.

Seth suggests porting the patch to Islandora namespace and swap later.

Decision to test the patch and push to give it more attention, but plan for handling if it doesn't get merged as well.
