Minutes

AOP alignment

LBNL: By 9/30/24, released Modelica Buildings Library that gets autosizing data from EnergyPlus.
NREL: By 6/28/24, published release that includes auto-sizing.
LBNL: By 9/30/24, demonstrated OpenStudio workflow from Spawn.

Peer Review

Initial PPT draft for TM review (optional): Wednesday, September 25

Final PPT submission: Wednesday, October 2

Sizing

Draft specification at https://lbl-srg.github.io/soep/softwareArchitecture.html.

Kyle pushed 24.1.0 to a Buildings Library fork for testing.

Sequence

  1. 9.6.0 - Completed, on master.
  2. 24.1.0 without auto-sizing (watch changes to CMake list). Make this a priority.
  3. 24.1.0 with auto-sizing.

OpenStudio integration

To be discussed next time for AOP 25 planning and current milestones. Discuss with Amir about FY 25 priorities and go/no-go.

Modelica Buildings Library

Backlog on fixing various issue.

New actuator travel time. https://github.com/lbl-srg/modelica-buildings/issues/3965 - done.

PNNL has milestones for end of FY to implement heat pump water heater, mostly using existing classes. PNNL to make verification of heat pump water heater. PNNL to have internal review next week.

ORNL has dehumidifier as deliverable end of this month, https://github.com/lbl-srg/modelica-buildings/pull/3475

Dehumidifer depends on thermal wheel, https://github.com/lbl-srg/modelica-buildings/pull/3554

ORNL works on autotuning PID, waiting for Jianjun's comment, https://github.com/lbl-srg/modelica-buildings/pull/2957

Heat exchanger documentation has been updated.

Work on air filter model is ongoing (to support multiple contaminants), https://github.com/lbl-srg/modelica-buildings/pull/3676

EnergyPlus-Modelica coupling

Autosizing added variables except for the coincident loads, which is hold up because of a refactoring of exchanged variables, and then picked up again, tentatively with a first implementation in 2 weeks.
