borg also supports compression. I also added Back In Time: although its core part is a sort of "wrapper" around rsync, it indeed offers many features to provide a full backup solution: permission handling, retention policies, various type of scheduling and/or backup trigger events, support for remote backups using SSH, etc.. It also provides a GUI to easy browsing and restoring of files from a snapshot and a comprehensive command-line interface to automate backup, restore and retention activities. Unfortunately, it looks like unmaintained in the last 1,5 years, but I think it's still a valid solution and worth mentioning here.

I just saw now that perhaps bacula is placed on the wrong line (to respect alphabetical order) and hence should be moved. In this case, also Back In Time should be moved above backshift. I leave the decision to you. |
