Major/Required Update

Due to connectivity related issues, a network fork emerged that was running in parallel to the chain exchanges/services were using. This updated release addresses the connectivity issues by adding new DNS based seed addresses and updated fallback peers, as well as introduce new hard-coded checkpoints that are more current.

Update Grace Period

To make the update process as easy as possible, users have a grace period lasting until March 1 2017 00:00:00 UTC to update their wallets, after which time old versions will no longer be allowed on the network

Resyncing

Clients upgrading from previous versions may encounter an error when starting this new version. This is due to errant orphan data conflicting with one of the recent hardened checkpoints. Users encountering an error are advised to resync from scratch or use a bootstrap to re-verify the chain data.
