I wonder if this would be better off as

I think this is particularly bad in the hud element drawing of src/pause/pause_stats.c - it's hard to see which values are different between JP and other versions, even though the logic is identical.

I agree this is preferable. Honestly I didn't do so from start because I don't know exactly what most of these functions are doing, so I can't figure out good names for these constants. Is it ok if I just go with with OFFSET_X_1, OFFSET_X_2, etc for now?

Is it ok if I just go with with OFFSET_X_1, OFFSET_X_2, etc for now?

That's totally fine - in other files we do exactly that!
