I think we mostly agree that we want to remove factory functions in v2 (or some later point)? If so, this PR would already show the deprecation for everyone who is currently using them (Don't want to rush v2 at all, but I think including the deprecation long time in advance is a good thing 😄 We can also keep this PR open for some time for now 🙂)
