Lag, Macros - Mouse without Borders #26182
Comments
Hi @lin-ycv, thanks for the report. What's your setup? Windows version/network connection/laptop or desktop. Lagging is typically caused by using energy-saving mode on Windows. |
Local machine is a desktop with wired Ethernet. |
I'm also experiencing lag/latency, but only one way. I have a desktop PC (5GHz WiFi), connected to a laptop (5GHz WiFi). There's no lag, and latency is basically non-existent when I'm mousing from the laptop to the desktop. However, if I mouse into the laptop from the desktop, the latency is everything between dozens of milliseconds to half a second, making it pretty much unuseable. I'm running it as admin on both machines, on the same network, and it's running as a service on both. The network is 100 Mbit. I'm running a VPN on both devices, but I'm using split-tunneling, so I have excluded Powertoys completely from going through the VPN. Still doesn't do much. I have also completely disabled VPN to see if that helps, but it doesn't. |

Area(s) with issue?
Mouse Without Borders
Steps to reproduce
I'm running PT as admin and as a service on the the remote computer, but not on the local computer
For lags, I don't know how to reproduce.
For macros
✔️ Expected Behavior
For lags:
Mouse movement to be consistent, or at the very least, not impact the local machine's mouse movement
For macros:
the macro to be executed on the remote machine, or at least send the key presses of the macro
❌ Actual Behavior
For lags:
Sometimes the mouse movement becomes extremely laggy, on both local and remote
for macro:
macro is only executed on the main machine
Other Software
No response
Edit:for elevated prompt, needed to enable the use as a service option under Mouse without Borders, missed that.
