Remove pylint and replace by ruff

There is little python code in the repository, but a lot of checking/linting in the Actions, and the linter keeps flagging errors. In many places in the code, the linting is deactivated by ignore and disable statements. Instead of keeping doing this, we should remove pylint and replace it by ruff, with less strict settings.
