#bug Hello,
I am not a dev for this project, but I came across this issue. I was using this software recently (Alpha 1, then Alpha 6 as I had discovered this updated version was a bit more effective), and I noticed that every time I try to add Gearbits to my vehicles, the game says the vehicle is corrupted. I have uploaded images of the steps I took. I did read the figure, accept the application of the gearbits, and wrote the figure once I was done.

Hello,

Sorry I haven't had a chance to really look at or work on the editor lately. I need to figure out what is causing this issue. Did the Editor read the Gearbits correctly before you edited the value?

Hello hegyak,

Yes and No, the Gearbits would read properly every once in a while; however, the majority of times, it would be set at zero as if ready for editing as a new figure.

I have tried it using a different figure with at least 100 Gearbits. If you look at the last post I wrote, I did include pictures of this scenario for context. The reader picked up the number, but after the writing, it would be set at zero, the newly edited number, or one hundred when the corruption was fixed (there is no picture for that, unfortunately). I know that corruption usually resets a figure, but with this Gearbit reading having displayed either the original number or the reset number of zero, there are some issues.

Here is an idea that could be tested, if you do not mind:
One suggestion I may implore is to have an update that changes the layout of the main window to a vehicle (or trap) specific look as to prevent confusion on if changes were truly applied, also. I cannot remember how many times the mini window that popped up for vehicles confused me as to if changes were truly made when applied. The mini window is just a burden that may not only confuse me, but possibly others.

Thank you,

Hm... I'm seeing an identical issue with my Dark Hot Streak, and I've noticed the following things in my testing:

  • When I have the program read my Dark Hot Streak from a SSA 3DS Portal connected to my PC, it picks up the 818 gearbits I've earned in-game, but mis-reports the Shield level as 0 in spite of the fact the Shield is at Lv. 1 in-game.
  • Pyrofer's Skylanders GUI Tool correctly ID's the Dark Hot Streak, and I've used that to make the dumps that I've got attached.
  • After attempting to edit my Dark Hot Streak's gearbits, I get that "your vehicle may be corrupted" message OP is seeing, and recovering the figure clears out the gearbits but leaves everything else alone.

As an aside... SkyReader does ID my Jet Stream correctly, but it also mis-reports its Weapon Level as 0 in spite of that being at Lv. 1 in-game. It also ID's my Dive Bomber correctly as well, but I haven't gotten any Shield/Weapon upgrades on it in-game yet. I'll look around in the open issues to see if that's been reported on, though.

I'm having the same issue. Can you please fix this? It just corrupts them everytime this program doesn't even work for vehicles at all.
