About OpenGrooves

OpenGrooves is, frankly, an abandoned project that I began almost 3 years ago in the hopes of creating a basic social platform for local bands. By "local bands", I'm talking about the high school kids strumming it out in their parents basement, or the string duo without a well-known name - the little guy. I've seen local band websites, and they don't seem to fill the niche. They're either never maintained, or they're all about the local concerts from bigger-name acts.

Admittedly, it was also a project to get practice with the MVC framework.

It's also an old project - MVC 2, ASP.NET 4, Entity Framework 4. I simply never had the time to really complete it to my liking or market it to the community. You also might see some cob-web code in there. Don't be scared (but feel free to improve it).
