The Terminology project inherits its origins from Bengalinux. At that time a much smaller set of desktop applications was translated. One of the first items to be standardized was the top-level main menu which has helped the Bengali user interfaces to maintain an uniformity in this important component.

Now part of Ankur India, the project has grown to include more content with contextual references. The next steps include completing the term-base, automating the content query process through a web-based interface and building an API to make it an effective cross-referencing tool.
