Simplified Changes
-Added Variables

Technical Changes of 0.2.0

  • Engine Class Completely rewritten
  • OptionText Renamed to Options
  • Options and Links changed to System variables
  • Changed System Class Documentation to explain the variables better (Included keys for lists)
  • Added VarSet.txt and VarCheck.txt Support
  • Options and Links are now Dynamic Lists instead of Arrays
  • Engine.Output() has been split into several smaller functions
  • New Engine class is called NewEngine but will be renamed back to engine in a future release
  • Edited text of ErrorCheck.OptionLinkCheck() from "Press Enter to be sent back to the news." to "Press Enter to be sent back to the main menu."
    -Included a status report for the developer in ErrorCheck.OptionsLinkCheck()
  • Added chapterchange in newdawn2019

  • C;leaned up code
    • The codebase is now split up into more classes
    • Added a Common Code and Error Checking Classes to clean up code
      -NewDawn will now read i.nfo again

NewDawn is now in C#!
-The engine has been completely rewritten in c#
-Python versions will only be released for major versions such as 0.2, 0.3 ect
-Not much is changed from the Python but it fixes some bugs and prevents crashes
-Should an error occur the engine will now try and recover from it, this will be expanded in future releases
-Another version will be released soon with some more bug fixes and changes

below is the compiled version, I will upload the code for c# for 0.1.2

  • Added Chapter Change Support
  • Added more checks
    • One checks for the existence of the \Data\ in the programs executing directory
    • The other checks that room either has ChapterChange.txt or T.txt and O.txt and L.txt
    • Added Experimental Linux support

Next Update will take a few days as I'm trying to rewrite the code to make it cleaner
Data is attached and includes some games to get you started with
