I get errors when trying to chat and my messages don't show up

This means the account you're using has not yet been unlocked. Before you can talk in public chat channels, you need to have:

• a level 5 account
• a confirmed e-mail address
• at least 20 public matchmaking matches played
• $5 spent in the steam store

How can I obtain the MMR of an account?

You can't unless that person is showing their MMR on their profile card. In that case you can obtain it by calling requestProfileCard and taking the MMR from the response.

Can this library be used to spectate/coach/play games?

No it can't. This library will only allow you to communicate with the Dota 2 Game Coordinator. As soon as a game start, you'd need to start communicating with the game servers themselves, which we do not support at this moment.
