I would like to configure the ls/git commands to my liking

Configure via zstyle, env var, or overridable fn

Switching to https://github.com/zshzoo/magic-enter or https://github.com/ohmyzsh/ohmyzsh/blob/master/plugins/magic-enter/magic-enter.plugin.zsh
