Hi there,

jiotty looks like a great tool!

I have the following scenario:

  • All my Photos are in Apple Photos, structured in Folders and Albums. (Around 40k photos over 20 years)
  • Some of the photos are live photos, taken by iPhone
  • I'd like to migrate from Apple Photos to Google Photos.

It would be awesome if jiotty would support reading the folder structure / album names from Apple Photos and allow to upload them to Google.

In theory, one could first use the export function on Apple Photos which would recreate the folder structure, however Apple modifies the files when exporting. It converts the iPhone photo format HEIC to JPEG and removes the live photo part of the photos.

Up to m knowledge, there is no tool out there which allows a user who wants to keep live photos to migrate their album structure from apple to google.

It would be awesome if Jiotty would become the first tool to do so!

After some googling I found that it does not look to be possible to access the iCloud Photo Library unless via an app running on the Apple device itself, which jiotty will very unlikely to ever be able to do. https://forums.developer.apple.com/forums/thread/74434

If you are a developer and have ideas on how to do it, I will be happy to accept you as a contributor.
