must have a permission option for each snap app #1633
Comments
Yes it must offer a graphical interface for permissions. At one point the Ubuntu Software had such graphical configuration for snaps. Or maybe it was in the Gnome Control Center but such thing should be independent from any desktop dependent program. I use Unity and there isn't Gnome Control Center here and others will use KDE, Xfce, Mate or something else. |
Yeah, it existed on the previous app store. The new one rocks, but lacks this functionality, and snap apps are in huge numbers. I think it's expected from the user's perspective that it has to be enabled by default for certain operations. Why do we trust any other software, but we can't enable USB media access permissions for a snap package by default? And if we don't, we should make it easy to enable. The user can't be browsing the web for an hour or two to figure out why it's not working. Thanks in advance |
Isn't this available directly in the Settings app? I am not sure about other (non-GNOME) Ubuntu flavours though. |

report from ubuntu noble. I just had to connect ppsspp emulator on to removable-media just to acomplish such task, it must be offered as option on installation or from the app store itself
