Hmm, interesting! Yeah, we have to make our commits more meaningful for outside contributors. Can you list the advantages of adopting this system?

  • It would make commits more meaningful to outside contributors (like you said).
  • Good practice that allows more thoughtful commits and encourages better explanation when submitting PRs and commits.
  • You can automatically generate changelogs based on commits using something like this.
  • You could post the updates to reddit automatically, or anywhere else.

Tools like this and this would be neat and useful.
