Steve Taylor has been looking into reCAPTCHA challenges for users not logged into SearchWorks. We have reCAPTCHA in:

  • Emailing a selections list
  • Submitting SearchWorks feedback
  • (probably elsewhere)

In each case, the issues were reported by Stanford Libraries staff and they didn't realize that they could avoid the reCAPTCHA challenge by logging into SearchWorks. We have this subtle text under the reCaptcha section:

I don't think users are seeing it. We might want to explore other options for helping Stanford users understand how to avoid the challenge.
