Help with authentication

Hi all,
I am trying to deploy a stac-fastapi server with the search capabilities open (no authentication) but with the creation/deletion or update of collection and items is password protected. Is that possible? I couldn't find anything on the documentation, could someone please point me in the right direction?

PS: I found the add_route_dependencies function and could probably write a auth_required method and pass it to the routes I want but I'm not sure how to do that or if it is the advised method of doing it.

PS2: So I found https://github.com/stac-utils/stac-fastapi/pull/295, which exactly what I need it seems.

Just in case it is useful to someone else, in our context it would make more sense to relay on nginx to authenticate rather than using the method described in the PR mentioned in my initial comment.
