Hi, instead to use the local libvirt instance it should also be possible to work with a remote instance. I tried to configure [email protected]:/var/lib/libvirt/dnsmasq/virbr0.status, but it does not work.

It would make sense to improve the script to lookup for remote dhcp lease files via an url pattern like scp, because an qemu+ssh connection is already possible. Here my libvirt.ini.

[general]
  libvirt_connection = qemu+ssh://[email protected]/system
  libvirt_dhcp_lease_file = [email protected]:/var/lib/libvirt/dnsmasq/virbr0.status

[group_glr]
  add_hosts = glr*

I've moved pretty far away from use cases for this myself as I'm running Kubernetes on bare metal for my home lab these days. If you've got a PoC and a PR I'm happy to take a look, otherwise you're welcome to fork if you like.
