Welcome to the Backup and Restore for Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization with Trilio Demo!

Introduction

This repository hosts the lab guide for the Welcome to the Backup and Restore for Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization with Trilio, which can be delivered by Red Hat Associates to customers and interested parties all over the world.

It is designed to work with the Showroom lab environment provided by the Red Hat Demo Platform (RHDP) team.

This demo is organized to allow you to have a hands-on experience with Backup and Restore using Trilio for Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization.

Trilio is a leader in cloud-native data protection for Kubernetes, KubeVirt and OpenStack environments. Trilio technology is trusted by cloud infrastructure operators, the largest telco providers, and developers for backup and recovery, migration and application mobility.

Customers in telecom, defense, automotive and financial services leverage Trilio to recover from disasters, migrate workloads, move workloads to new infrastructure and migrate to new software distributions.

In this demo we will explore many common management activities that virtual administrators often encounter in their day to day workflows.

Who Will Benefit Most from attending a Roadshow?

Virtual Machine Administrators — Those responsible for day to day management of virtual guests in OpenShift Virtualization. These users will often find themselves responsible for backup up and restoring virtual guests and the applications running within.

Virtual Infrastructure Administrators — Those responsible for the physical infrastructure hosting the Backup targets. These users will be responsible for physical hardware, storage, and networking changes to the environment, that will esnure the successful restoration of virtual machine resources.

What Content Is Covered In The Roadshow?

These are the eight main sections that will be covered:

  • Operator Installation: In this section we will explore the Trilio operator for Openshift as well as creating a Trilio Vault Manager instance.

  • Creating Targets: In this section, you will create your own Trilio Targets used to define storage for your backups.

  • Creating Backup Plans: In this section, an administrator will learn how to create a backup plan and creating backups on a schedule.

  • Creating Restores: In this sectin, an administrator will learn how to restore a previous back up.
