Reported on the Facebook Onewheel Owner's Group; several people have received XR this week with new hardware and firmware versions and they reportedly no longer show data with Ponewheel other than firmware version and the Bluetooth ID/serial number. Onewave was tried and it also no longer reports data.

From the screenshots in OWOG it looked like handshake wasn't successful.
It's interesting that that firmware is specific to that hardware. Either the official app handles the handshake gracefully, or it was updated to to handle this new version.

Its interesting that its a new firmware and a new hardware as existing XRs didn't get the 4142 firmware.

How much do you want to bet that it is the same handshake, or similar, as the Pint handshake in #109 ?

Coming from FM, likely.

My guess would be the controller hardware has not changed at all. The new revision only serves the purpose of not updating earlier boards whose BMS firmware isn't compatible with pairing (because they would stop working).

Unlock system for Pint (and should be new XR) has been committed to OWCE. I'll do a bigger writeup in #109.
