Sometimes it seems to get completely stuck after sleep and it looks like the new version 7.x is even more effected by this.

Closing the app and restarting it helps, but I wonder if there is a way to manually refresh it.

Short term work-around: disable sleep with UT-tweak tool and always remember to close the app when not actually in use to conserve battery.

Where exactly can I disable sleep in UT-tweaks?

I have just found UT tweaks > App + Scopes > ConverseJS > Prevent app suspension (in Volla Phone with OTA-18)...
