Tags on news items link to nicely formatted listing

Plone.org news items are all tagged and the tags should show on the listings (#171) and individual news items (#174). The tags should be linked to a nicely formatted listing of all the news items with that tag - for example this page for the podcasts and videos tag which has a listing block that was migrated from a Plone 5 collection. Such pages exist for all the tags that are used on news items: https://plone.org/news-and-events/news/plone-news-by-category

Is this possible? In Classic OOTB tags on items would be linked to catalog searches which look terrible...
