Is there a way to access model tree information with pdfminer? I didnt see anything in the docs.

Assuming this is related to "3D artwork"? (PDF 1.7 section 13.6)

You can probably get to it through the annotation dictionaries, which are accessible via the annots attribute of PDFPage.
