Auto creation of Oxygen project file on Git Clone #122
Comments
Hi John! I added an internal issue for this (EXM-47798). We will update this thread when this will be implemented. By the way, at the moment I see this as a persistent check box in the Clone Repository dialog box, which is not selected by default. This way the possibility to create a project is more visible to the user. The downside is that you wouldn't be able to save the option inside the project... Another possibility would be to add the check box in the Git Client preferences page, and also add a link in the Clone Repository dialog box that would lead to the preferences section. What do you think? |
By the way, can you please explain more about your use cases? Is it just a matter of doing the entire initialization in one shot? |
Hi Sorin,
I’d think it would be best to have it as a preference item that can be saved in a user’s global options.
Of course, If an xpr file already exists, then there’s no need for a new project file.
And yes, the motivation was to do it in one operation. It gets old when cloning a lot of repos and then having to create a new project every time.

It would save our writers several mouse-clicks and file dialog interaction, if there was an option (possibly preference controlled) to create an Oxygen project (xpr) file at the root of the local repo whenever the plugin's clone feature executes. You have the path to the local repo from the clone dialog.
