The repository started as a container for the feature configurations, but then evolved (not always organically) to contain the cnf-tests test suite, and some specific use cases configurations.

We came out with an initial proposal described in the doc https://docs.google.com/document/d/1mYRTLBe9ZCrd7WrNvHpedypvxbWGbWFgplDKUiiNu8c/edit#heading=h.96pc2iurba9d

This issue is to track the design on the document.
