The legal-time placeholder tag for temporal information in the Code will stand for references to the period of time or moment of an event, activity or other legal matter.

Examples of code-diffs:

  • The date of enactment of a code provision
  • The date of amendment or
  • The date of repeal.

Examples of legal-time:

  • Notice periods such as those in the Statute of Limitations;
  • Identifying a date or period of time such as designating a date or month to commemorate an idea.
  • Requiring a sequence or events or an approval or acceptance as a conditional event precedent.
