• I have not been informed if the issue is resolved in a preview version of the winget client.

Brief description of your issue

winget upgrade Microsoft.Edge
The install technology of the newer version specified is different from the current version installed. Please uninstall the package and install the newer version.

winget remove Microsoft.Edge
fails with exit code 19

Steps to reproduce

(winget is installed by default ...)

winget upgrade Microsoft.Edge
winget remove Microsoft.Edge
