@SomeoneElse00 - did you launch Awake as a standalone app or through PowerToys?

I have PowerToys open on windows startup, so it should have launched with PowerToys.

Try changing the settings from PowerToys for Awake - do they take effect (i.e., does the icon change)?

The icons change correctly. Funny thing though, if I toggle off and on the entire utility, the icon disapears when turned off, then does not reappear when set to on.

I can confirm this problem. Just seted up a new pc and install PowerToys 0.84 new (no update).

It appears when I switch Awake off and on again, than hide und unhide the tray-icon in the tray-settings (other symbols) and again switch awake off and on again. Maybe the first step is not nessessary. I have to check this.

Same Issue, even in stand alone mode the context menu doesn't work.
Also the icon disappears after a shutdown. Only shows up again when I restart.

Investigating this. So far I cannot reproduce this on my machine, a brand new VM, and a clean "on the metal" Windows 11 install.

@kpatzwald @yyurkov @LynX-gh @SomeoneElse00 can you please provide your logs for Awake? This seems like isolated behavior but I want to make sure to add proper handling for next release.

Thanks for the logs, @LynX-gh, this seems to be a duplicate of #34148 (i.e., the root cause is the same). I suspect it's because of the --use-parent-pid that was incorrectly defaulted to true. The issue should already be covered in #34717, but I will keep validating to make sure it's actually the root cause.
