Description of the new feature / enhancement

ClearType alters anti-aliasing assuming an RGB stripe subpixel configuration. More WOLED (WRGB stripe) and QD-OLED (RGB triangular) monitors are coming to market and have noticeable chromatic aberration/color fringing on edges of text. It would be nice if Windows had a built-in option to alter text rendering based on subpixel configuration of the monitor.

Scenario when this would be used?

When using a WOLED or QD-OLED monitor with WRGB stripe or RGB triangular subpixel configuration to improve text clarity.

Reopened at #25595

@Jay-o-Way this item was incorrectly closed.

I work with monitor manufacturers.

I've created this issue again at #25595 as a DIY re-open.

is this a duplicate of #25595 then? :)

Vice-Versa. Superseded by #25595.

Reason: Not-Duplicate, due to #25568 being contaminated by an incorrect label that will potentially reduce the number of people (including Microsoft employees) reading this item. Also-See comment in #25595 (comment)

Excellent -- thanks for removing the Resolution-Built into Windows label.

Now please choose which of the two to mark as duplicate. Shall I crosspost everything from #25568 over here, so the other item can be closed as duplicate? My gigantic image-filled white-paperesque commentary will be moved to the non-duplicate that you choose.

Duplicate decision tree:

Pros: #25595 already has comments & reactions and useful re-commentary added
Cons: #25595 is newer than #25568

@mdrejhon Vote: Keep #25595, close #25568. Alternatively, I will self-delete my commentary here & crosspost

No response so far.

Formal request:

Please close this item as duplicate

(The other person seemed impressed enough that he thinks I should work for Microsoft. That golden comment, amongst others, make me feel that #25595 win the duplicate contest. Not going to use the “/ dup” as software might assume newer is the duplicate, so needs manual handle)

This item #25568 Effectively Closed As Duplicate

Yeah, this is a subject that only few people will have inside knowledge on.

...win the duplicate contest

I wouldn't look at it that way. Things can take quite some time here. Many, many issues and not enough people to handle it all. Of the people that are involved, we have many volunteers.
