Microsoft PowerToys version

0.41.4

Running as admin

  • Yes

Area(s) with issue?

Awake

Steps to reproduce

Start Awake.
Right-click tray icon and see "Keep screen on" menu item.
Click the menu item.
Right-click the tray icon again and see the menu item hasn't changed.
Notice that screen does not blank/go into lock/screensaver regardless of whether you've clicked the menu item

✔️ Expected Behavior

I was expecting this menu item to have a check state (similar to the Mode menu items). When it is checked, the app prevents the screen from going blank or going to the lock screen or screensaver.

❌ Actual Behavior

Actual behavior is that this menu item has no check state and is in an always-on mode.

I just noticed that the PowerToys settings dialog, Awake tab, contains a check box for "Keep screen on". Checking that box will affect the check state for the menu item. But it doesn't matter what the check state is: the screen will always stay on.

@dend , is this the same as #12145 ?
Looks like there might be something more relating to the screen not turning off.
