Microsoft PowerToys version

0.41.4

Running as admin

  • Yes

Area(s) with issue?

Awake

Steps to reproduce

Update from 0.41.3 to 0.41.4 with running PT and Awake.

✔️ Expected Behavior

After update both Tray icons are shown.

❌ Actual Behavior

Tray icon for awake is missing until I closed and restart PT. Before restart PT I tried to disable and enabled Awake module, which doesn't bring the awake icon in tray back.

Other Software

No response

I can confirm that i have the same issue. In fact for my with Powertoys 41.3 when i close or exit Awake the try icon does not dissapear!

I can't repro the issue @htcfreek is having, but @Feejus's call out with the icon not disappearing is definitely happening on my machine. It does seem to work properly after I disable/re-enable Awake from the PowerToys settings.

@Feejus does your issue persist even after you disable Awake in PowerToys settings?

@dedavis6797 Good point you made (I never checked the powertoy settings).

  • The icon has no function, the exit or enabling it etc is not working at all for me in the icon tray
  • When i go into the powertoy setting for awake, that works as it suppose to the icon tray

No function in icon tray does work for me, even after upgrade to 41.4 and also turn on and off the awake. I recoded a video for you all to see.

I think I have the exact opposite: I just updated from 0.41.2 to 41.4 and it looks like the process was not closed properly. Had two icons when the update was completed. The one on the left disappeared immediately when I hovered the mouse over it, just like a process that got killed via Task Manager or something.

I can't reproduce the missing icon (yet), but the other issues should already be tracked, as mentioned above.

We just pushed a new update for Awake - @Jay-o-Way and @htcfreek, can you please verify that things are working as expected?

@dend That's a negative from me. Settings changed via the tray menu do not appear in the Settings window. Have to actually close Settings and re-open it to see changes. Should be immediate. Also, when I Exit Awake via the tray menu, the icon remains "sticky" - it does not go away until I hover over it with the mouse pointer.

@Jay-o-Way
Your point is different from my original issue. So it would be better if you open your own issues. Or am I wrong?

As the original issue seems resolved we'll close this out. Thanks @dend!

@Jay-o-Way the settings window not updating with the tray menu is reproduceable for me too. I opened #12629 to track this.
