Any attempt to send an email to recipients selected through the role filter gives an error #288

The error is:
There are no users you are capable of emailing.

This error does not happen if we manual enter emails in the additional emails box.

Versions:
Moodle 3.7.2
QuickMail 1.7.6

This is similar as issue #280, however, policy will not allow us to run beta software.

This problem is caused by MDL-64324 which was integrated into Moodle 3.7.

I have built a hotfix on moodleuulm@9e61616 to be able to continue to run Quickmail v1 in production on Moodle 3.7.
