This invocation from the docs doesn't seem to be working:

ytgif -start 1:02 -finish 1:10.9 -fps 10 \
    "https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ixljWVyPby0" airplane.gif

why?

youtube is actually just serving a really weird, wrong, subtitle file for that video. I can see the busted subtitles even when watching the video on youtube.com

Here's another case where they fail:

./ytgif.bash -start 27 -finish 46 'https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hZ7Pn8asyw8' redeem.gif
