Overlay visible during dark -> light animation

While the animation toggling dark mode and light mode is happening, the overlay seems to be fading at a different speed, making it slightly visible and breaking the illusion of the more seamless fade design.

Not sure what can be done to address this, but likely something to do with the timing of the animation.
