Examples of fork

Hello,

I'm trying to understand the fork feature, reading about it here on discussions and on the official documentation, but I am not able to grasp what I can really do withit.

Could anybody please explain with some easy real life example what is it useful for?

In my keyboard layout (hands down gold) the letter a and u are on the same finger. Like j and m in qwerty. And it's hard to type fast words like: automatic. I use fork, so when I push e(the neighbour key, k on qwerty) while a is pressed, it produces au instead of ae. This happens when rolling.

use modifie with layer key: (tap-hold 200 200 spc (fork @numlayer @symbollayer (rsft lsft)))

Holding a produces ! but holding both lctl and a should still be C-a : (tap-hold 1 140 a (fork S-1 C-a (lctl rctl)) )
