Possible: yes

Usefulness: will depend. Cost is minimal as the set up is pretty straight forward. Can track your github realease or the main branch (maybe another default branch, not sure).

Usefulness will start fading quickly if you have submodules.

Thanks, @Remi-Gau! The repo has submodules, although installation doesn't assume that people use git to install the repo, so it might still be useful to an extent.
