It seems that the m.2 USB port on the Intel Aero is disabled (using the most recent BIOS and OS image).
Any modem inserted does not get recognized on the USB bus.
Can someone clarify on how to enable it?

It's disabled on bios, there's not much we can do on it here for now. I've read the discussion you pointed out and I am checking on a workaround or an updated bios.
