Simpler setup and OpenCL memory leak workaround
To improve our support we created /r/xmrstak sub-reddit check it out if you have a problem, or you are looking for most up to date config for your card.

This release works around a memory leak in the OpenCL (AMD) backend if cryptonight_ris enabled. We also streamlined miner setup.

OpenCl Memory Leak Fix

This release fixes a memory leak in the OpenCL (AMD) backend if cryptonight_r is mined which filled the full main memory and crashed the miner after a few hours.
Please update your miner if you are mining cryptonight_r, monero or cryptonight_v8.
The new option --amdCacheDir allows to select the folder for the OpenCL binaries.

Monero and Graft Fork Edition

This release introduce full cryptonight_r (Monero) and cryptonight_v8_reversewaltz (Graft) support.

  • Monero fork on 2019/09/03. Select the currency monero to switch automatically the algorithm from cryptonight_v8 to cryptonight_r with the Monero blockversion 10.
  • Graft fork on 2019/07/03. Select the currency graft to switch automatically the algorithm from cryptonight_v8 to cryptonight_v8_reversewaltz with the Graft blockversion 12.

Cryptonight_R (rough draft)

This release introduce cryptonight_r required for the Monero for on 2019/09/03. Select the currency monero to switch automatically the algorithm from cryptonight_v8 to cryptonight_r with the Monero blockversion 10.

Please note that this version is a bit rough around the edges due to the emergency nature of Monero fork. CPU mining in particular will be very slow. We plan to release a more polished version around the fork date.

This release adds support for Cryptonight-GPU, a new FPGA-proof PoW for Ryo.

Warning! CN-GPU can use up to 75% more power than CN-Heavy, or 33% more than CN-V8. Please make sure your card is adequately powered and cooled.

This release also fixes a long-standing problem with some AMD drivers and implements support for the new Turtle PoW variant.

Bittube2 bug fix

This release fixes the bittube2 POW function which was broken in 2.7.0.

Config files from 2.5.X+ are compatible and 2.4.X or older are NOT compatible to this release.
If you remove the old amd.txt file you will get a new version with new tuning parameter.
