Error with WeaviateEmbeddingRetriever

hi!

when I run the next pipeline:

hybrid_retrieval = Pipeline()
hybrid_retrieval.add_component("text_embedder", text_embedder)
hybrid_retrieval.add_component("embedding_retriever", embedding_retriever)
hybrid_retrieval.add_component("bm25_retriever", bm25_retriever)
hybrid_retrieval.add_component("document_joiner", DocumentJoiner())
hybrid_retrieval.add_component("ranker", TransformersSimilarityRanker(model="BAAI/bge-reranker-base"))

hybrid_retrieval.connect("text_embedder.embedding", "embedding_retriever.query_embedding")
hybrid_retrieval.connect("bm25_retriever", "document_joiner")
hybrid_retrieval.connect("embedding_retriever", "document_joiner")
hybrid_retrieval.connect("document_joiner", "ranker")

the following error occurs:

haystack.core.errors.PipelineRuntimeError: Component 'embedding_retriever' didn't return a dictionary. components must always return dictionaries: check the the documentation.

i'm following the next tutorial: https://haystack.deepset.ai/tutorials/33_hybrid_retrieval but i'm using Weaviate as database.

any idea for this error?

Hi @javirenaiss thank you for reporting this. If I am not mistaken the issue should have been fixed now. On February 27th one of my colleagues published a new version of our weaviate integration version: weaviate-haystack 1.0.2
If you make sure you have that latest version installed, the issue should be gone.

If you are curious about what changes we will merge soon for the weaviate integration, you can already have a look at this open PR: deepset-ai/haystack-core-integrations#463 It's not merged yet.
