Release v3.2.0

05 Jun 20:02

This release fixes various bugs that have been reported to us via the Issues page and also adds two new button effects, "Dice" and "HTML". The dice button allows your viewers to roll any amount of dice you wish and output them to chat. The HTML button allows you to put in your own html and css and output that to the overlay.

Notes: The new HTML button effect is VERY open ended. Because of that it is very prone to errors due to the user inputting bad HTML, CSS, etc... Because of this I ask that you only use this button if you know basic HTML and CSS. I will not be able to provide support for this button and creating the HTML/CSS that goes into it.

Change Log:

  • Button Effect: Dice, this new effect allows users to roll dice. The amount rolled is customizable and the results will be output into chat (or whispered to someone).
  • Button Effect: HTML, this new effect allows you to put in some HTML and CSS and have that output onto your overlay for X amount of time. Warning, this button is very prone to error due to being almost completely open ended. Please only use this if you know basic HTML and CSS.
  • Show Image Effect Sizing, the show image effect now has an additional field for sizing images via the app. You can now scale images and gifs up and down without needing to edit them somewhere first. (Thanks Perry!)
  • Contributor Tab, there is a new piece on the info page that shows contributors to Firebot. (Thanks Perry!)
  • Fixed a bug where you were unable to remove people from custom groups after the first page.
  • Fixed an issue where the download button on the info tab would do nothing. (Thanks ebrayton!)
  • Fixed issue where the profile image would show a tiny square if the user had no profile uploaded when logging into the app. (Thanks ebrayton!)
  • Fixed bug with the cooldown effect on buttons would not cool down buttons and would crash the app.

Release v3.1.1

This release introduces a new login process that allows us to put in two new scopes: "bypass slow chat" and "bypass links". This means that your bot is no longer limited by the chat settings you place on everyone else. You should be able to chain chat commands again. Also, multi-key game control emulation is back.

NOTE: You should re-log into the app due to the changes in the login process and to give Firebot the new permissions.

Change Log:

  • New Login Process, using electron oauth2 we were able to put back in the bypass slow chat and bypass links scopes. (Thanks Kateract!)
  • Multi-key Game Control, you can now have Firebot press "shift + f" to pay respects.
  • Game Control Tweaks, the way game controls work on the back end has been tweaked to try to address issues with certain apps not registering key presses.

v3.1.0 introduces general improvements across the app such as connection problems, and introduces scene and group switching buttons.

Notes:
After you update please go through all scenes, buttons, and cooldown groups and just hit the save button. No need to change settings, just hit save to update controls and make sure it all has the correct data.

Change Log:

  • New Effect: Change Scene: The change scene effect will change the active scene of a group, allowing you to show new buttons to everyone in that group. There is also a reset option which will change groups back to their original scene.
  • New Setting: Sounds: Firebot has sounds now! Turn this on to hear a sound on connect and disconnect.
  • Startup Improvements: The connection process has been improved to be more reliable. Introduced a two second delay after connecting before the board becomes ready to give chat connection some time to connect.
  • Cooldown Group Improvements: The way cooldown groups work has been improved. Hopefully these are more reliable now.
  • Extra Error Logging: Extra error prompts have been added throughout the app with better descriptions to help with troubleshooting.
  • Auto Group Fixes: There are a few fixes to auto group functionality. Mods will now be grouped into the moderator role successfully.
  • Backend Cleanup: Firebot will now cleanup the controls file when things are deleted from the interactive studio. This was a major problem that caused connection issues.
  • UI Improvements: UI improvements have been made focusing on groups and scene changing to make it all a bit less confusing.
  • Spinner on manual button activation now spins! (Thanks ebiggz!)
  • Mouse clicks can now be triggered via the Game Controls (Thanks ebiggz!)

Release v3.1.0 Beta 3 Pre-release

BETA RELEASE: Features in this release have had limited testing and may be broken. Thank you for any and all feedback. If you want a stable version please look for the last full release.

This release focuses on fixing a big connection bug related to deleting interactive scenes and buttons in the studio. Also addressed some confusing UI in regards to default group scenes, change scenes effect, and change groups effect. Added error logging for the change scenes and change groups button as well as some connection step issues.

Change Log:

  • When deleting scenes and buttons from the dev lab, Firebot will now clean up and remove those settings from the controls file. This was a common bug that caused connection issues. This process happens when loading up the interactive board or restarting the app.
  • Checks and error logging added for change group and change scenes buttons. It will no longer try to change people to groups that are not active.
  • Reworked UI for setting default scenes for groups to make it a bit less confusing.
  • Made it so that only active groups show as selectable for change groups and change scenes buttons.
  • Added some error logging to connection process so it is easier to troubleshoot.
  • Changed some description text related to setting default scenes for groups.
  • Spinner on manual button trigger now spins. (Thanks ebiggz!)

NOTE: This release introduces some control file cleanup. I recommend making a backup of your controls folder just to be 100% safe.

BETA RELEASE: Features in this release have had limited testing and may be broken. Thank you for any and all feedback.

This release focuses on scene and group switching. Yes, you can now change the scene for everyone or only specific groups.

Change Log:

  • New Effect: Change Scene, this button will change the scene for everyone in a group at the same time. This effect also comes with a reset option to set all groups back to their default scenes.
  • New Setting: Sounds, you can now have firebot play sounds when it connects and disconnects. (More options soon. Default is off.)
  • Startup Improvements, improvements have been made to the way scenes and groups are initially loaded. This should help avoid broken "Change Group" buttons due to a group not being created correctly.
  • Improvements to cooldown groups. (Should now work across scenes.)
  • Improvements to change group.
  • More error logging.

Notes:
This update makes a few changes to "Change Group". If you were using that effect before double check that button and make sure the settings are still fine.

For Change Scene and Change Group I recommend a one second cooldown minimum. Any faster and sometimes people will lose their controls. If this happens try increasing the cooldown.

Firebot v3 now supports Mixer Interactive 2. This is the first major release of Firebot that supports these new interactive features.

If you need help getting accustomed to the new layout and features, please take a look at the getting started guide! It even comes with a tutorial video.

GETTING STARTED GUIDE

Change Log:

  • Brand new ui
  • Complete Rewrite: I've tried to focus on speed to keep up with things like auto clickers. So far so good.
  • Unlimited effects: You can now add as many effects, of any type, to any button.
  • Interactive Group support (auto grouping and manual grouping)
  • Multiple Scene support
  • New secure OAuth login process.
  • New effect: Change Group allows the person who clicked the button to change groups and thus see a different set of buttons..
  • New Effect: Cooldown, you can now make any button cool down any other button. (Cooldown groups are still a thing too.)
  • Event Log added. The event log shows all buttons being pressed and the person who pressed them. This holds events for 2 minutes before clearing them.
  • Auto Grouping: Firebot will automatically group your mods, subs, staff members, etc.... into their own groups so you can build special boards just for them. (Note: Firebot queues people up and groups 10 people per second. For huge chat rooms it may take a little bit for Firebot to catch up when initially launching.)
  • Manual Triggers: You can now manually triggers buttons from Firebot. Some effects, such as cooldowns, won't fire through this.
  • Banned Userlist: You can now ban people from using interactive without needing to ban them entirely from the channel.

Changes Since v3 beta 2:

  • A few ui tweaks to make certain elements more obvious.
  • Banned userlist functionality.
  • A bit more error handling for various pieces.
  • All JS is now loaded locally instead of pulling from a CDN.

The Mixer Update!

This update is mostly backend changes to move from Beam.pro to Mixer.com. However, I've also made some adjustments to the way cooldown groups were being handled. So, hopefully this will fix any issues where buttons would just not cool down when clicked.

Changes:

  • References to Beam.pro changed to Mixer.com
  • Cooldowns now only sent to Mixer on "mousedown" events.

Interactive 2.0 is here!

Firebot has been rewritten from the ground up to support interactive 2.0 features. This version is VERY different from past versions and will NOT work with any past settings. This is essentially a brand new start for Interactive 2.0.

This is a BETA release. It may not be stable and may have bugs that need fixed. If you are looking for a stable release stick with Firebot v2 for now.

Tutorial coming soon.

UPDATE: (5/23/17 at 3:00pm CT)

  • The initial upload did not include the overlay folder. I've corrected this and have also zipped it up separately for those wanting to download only that missing folder. Just unzip the overlay folder into your Firebot folder.
