4chanx filter while JSON index is disabled

I'm unable to use the 4chanX catalog because my ISP throttles connections to 4chan (this is my best guess). Is there a way to use 4chanX regex filtering without JSON? Would it be possible to create a "lightweight" version of the 4chanX catalog for people with shithole internet connections like mine? My knowledge in this field is limited, so perhaps this is a stupid question. Apologies in advance.
