Hi there,

I re-used ChEBI:594834 from this repository as an illustration to explain versioning of databases in a very different context. First of all, thanks for collecting this information, that is really valuable!

Investigating ChEBI:594834, I found a paper where it says it's called Dovitinib, and when I go to ChEBI, I don't find Dovitinib, but PubChem now (again?) has it: https://pubchem.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/compound/Dovitinib . From there you land at https://www.ebi.ac.uk/chebi/searchId.do?chebiId=CHEBI:91395 -- maybe the "successor"?

My question: would it be good to contact, for example here, ChEBI about this directly to resolve "the mess they made"? Or do you have another plan?

Best and have a good Friday!
Robert

Hi @robertgiessmann : you could contact the ChEBI team directly about entries through github: https://github.com/ebi-chebi/ChEBI . The PubChem team is also open for discussion (via email). Deprecated IDs happen in every database I've come across, and it's often a big puzzle to solve what happened to them and what the new entry is.
