Middle wheel clicking on non Apple mouse stopped working.

Starting up a discussion here. I am using a non magic mouse and since I started using MiddleClick months ago until now, the wheel click worked just the same as three finger clicking on the track pad. Not sure if there was an update to MacOS that changed something or what but now I can't get it to work on my mouse. I have tried reinstalling and closing other apps that are open.

Has anyone else had any issues with non Apple mice with this mod?

Already have an update on this. When writing this post, it dawned on me that I did change my mouse recently. Sure enough, I plug in my old mouse and it works fine. So what about my new mouse would be different enough to make MiddleClick not work? Both mice are from the same brand, one is just the never version of the older one.

Firmware update on a windows computer said it was up to date, installed firmware anyways and now it seems to be working. Not sure what went wrong but I don't think it was a MiddleClick issue.
