As baf is being used across the lab, could it make sense to add it to biomechanical-analysis-framework ?

What do you think @davidegorbani @claudia-lat @GiulioRomualdi ?

This can be done by following the steps in https://github.com/robotology/robotology-superbuild/blob/master/doc/developers-faqs.md#how-to-add-a-new-package, but if you like I can handle this myself.

Definitely yes!

For what regard conda package generation, I wonder if it could make sense to directly add the package to conda-forge, without passing via the robotology channel, a bit like we did for gz-sim-yarp-plugins in conda-forge/staged-recipes#25910, robotology/gz-sim-yarp-plugins#132 and robotology/gz-sim-yarp-plugins#131 . The main advantage is that we would have packages available fast after a release, and we will have packages for osx-arm64 (for @DanielePucci to run analysis :) ) and linux-aarch64 (useful if we want eventually to do analysis on jetson or similar.

Fine to me

Ok, @davidegorbani let me know if you like to do this yourself (for learning) or you prefer me handling this. On baf side, we just need an initial release/tag.

I can try to follow the documentation and to it myself.

I created the fork and opened a branch to create the conda package https://github.com/davidegorbani/staged-recipes/tree/add-baf-pkg.

@davidegorbani regarding this, is BAF now available as a conda package?

is BAF now available as a conda package?

Not yet, I opened conda-forge/staged-recipes#26377 to add it but then I didn't work on it.

Do you think it's going to take something like a week or it's something more on the long term?

If there is any urgency on that I can help @davidegorbani finalize that.

I wouldn't call it an urgency, but depending on if there is a conda package or not, I will implement the CI for iFeelBAF applications accordingly (installing from conda or compiling from source)
