Actual result

Media does not play. Getting 500 errors for requests to /media/{aapb_id}?part=1 (see browser inspector console).

Instead of 500 erorrs I get this statement, along with a broken thumbnail when I try to access these:
" Please note: This content is only available at GBH and the Library of
Congress, either due to copyright restrictions or because this content has
not yet been reviewed for copyright or privacy issues. For information about
on location research.."

@ekemeyer if you're getting this without being on VPN, then that's expected (VPN == onsite for GBH). If you're getting this and you are on the VPN, then it's another problem.
