PneumaticCraft: Repressurized - Changelog

This is an overview of significant new features and fixes by release. See https://github.com/TeamPneumatic/pnc-repressurized/commits/master for a detailed list of all changes.

Changes are in reverse chronological order; newest changes at the top.

Minecraft 1.21.1

[8.1.3]

Changed

  • Double-clicking items/fluids in the item/fluid selection screens now works for quick selection

Fixed

  • Fixed potential crash in Pressure Chamber recipe handling (introduced in 8.1.2)
  • Stopped the Pneumatic Armor Magnet upgrade working in spectator mode
  • Fixed Pneumatic Armor Night Vision upgrade suppressing other source of night vision when it was installed but switched off
  • Fixed Refinery advancement not being obtainable
  • Fixed exhaustion levels on PNC damage types being too high (1.0 instead of 0.1)

Added

  • Added support for limiting offline chunkloading for Drones and Programmable Controllers
    • chunkload_offline_time in common config controls the number of seconds after which a player has logged out that Chunkloader upgrades in their drones stop working
    • Default of 0 means offline chunkloading works indefinitely, as before
    • Caveat: drones which are no-longer chunk loading won't magically forceload their chunks again on player login; the player needs to visit the drone's chunk to restart chunkloading
  • Added tooltip to Pressure Chamber Glass block reminding players that CTM (ConnectedTextureMod) is useful (if it's not already installed)

  • Configuration is now available again in-game (Mods -> PneumaticCraft: Repressurized -> Configuration)
    • Config has been overhauled somewhat to support this, and modified values may have been reset to defaults
    • Check your configs (client and server) if you've changed anything previously

Fixed

  • Fixed Fluid Mixer sometimes caching an invalid recipe
    • Insufficient quantities of the right fluid could lead to a valid recipe being negatively cached
  • Fixed Thermopneumatic Processing Plant sometimes caching an invalid recipe
    • Basically the same issue as the Fluid Mixer
  • Fixed Pressure Chamber and Memory Essence recipes not viewable when EMI is installed in addition to JEI
    • Moved back to using older (deprecated) JEI API for these categories for now, since newer JEI API doesn't yet work with EMI integration

Added

  • There is now a JEI category showing which blocks can be used as grid blocks for the Electrostatic Compressor
    • Iron Bars and Lightning Rods by default, but modpacks may add more blocks via the pneumaticcraft:electrostatic_grid block tag
    • The category shows up when you view the uses of any grid block or the Electrostatic Compressor in JEI (right click / 'U' key)
  • Added a pneumaticcraft:minigun_ammo item tag containing the six ammo items

Fixes

  • Fixed server-side memory leak with drones not correctly unregistering an event handler on removal
  • Fixed Refinery sometimes caching invalid recipes (in particular if oil is added before there are enough outputs)
  • The Drone Interface is now craftable again (re-enabled the recipe datagen)
  • Fixed changes to Aphorism Tiles not sync'ing to nearby players (were only getting sync'd on player login)
  • Fixed crash in importing legacy Drone Programs
    • This only occurs when using vanilla launcher (which is also used by CurseForge launcher) since it installs an older version of the Gson library
    • Worked around the issue for now
  • Machines with empty tags and/or upgrades should now stack better with fresh blocks of the same type when broken and/or sneak-wrenched
  • Fixed Minigun Ammo not being enchantable in an Enchanting Table

[8.1.0]

Changed

  • Pressure Tube model and shape calculation have been heavily reworked and refactored internally
    • Tube models are now fully dynamic baked models, and pressure tube blocks no longer use blockstates for sided connections
    • This reduces the number of blockstates needed for all three tube types from 4374 to 6, a big performance win especially on big instances with many mods
    • Shape recalculation has also been further optimised, improving performance and reducing the memory needed to cache block shapes
    • No player-visible changes (hopefully!)
  • Pneumatic Armor model rendering has been refactored, no longer requiring a custom model renderer (NeoForge 21.1.18+ required)
  • Sentry Turrets now note the deploying player ID, and won't attack that player if their filter is empty (no more tragic accidents)
    • Existing Turrets in your world need to be picked up and deployed again for this to function
  • Miniguns (hand-held/turret/drone) now have a reduced i-frame count; 10 ticks instead of 20
    • This increases their damage output (and effectively reduces ammo usage)
    • Can be configured in config; invulnerability_ticks in the Minigun section

Added

  • Pneumatic Armor now supports vanilla armor trims
  • Added pneumaticcraft:upgrades item tag containing all PNC upgrade items
  • Added vanilla Lightning Rods to the pneumaticcraft:electrostatic_grid block tag, meaning they can be used as well as Iron Bars with the Electrostatic Compressor

Fixed

  • Fixed Armor Upgrades not having any effect in Pneumatic Armor items
  • Fixed Sentry Turrets not doing the "sweep" animation when ammo is loaded (cosmetic fix; turrets still worked)
  • Fixed a couple of client-side memory leaks where world & player objects were not released on client logout
  • Fixed RF Import/Export progwidgets in programmer GUI not having a right-click setup screen
  • Fixed sided progwidgets (e.g. item import/export) not accepting side configuration changes via right-click setup screen
  • Pneumatic Armor Radiation Shielding Upgrade recipe has been re-enabled (Mekanism radiation protection)

  • Fixed Compressed Iron and Pneumatic armor pieces not having durability or enchantability (oops)
  • Disabled registration of Air Conditioning upgrade handler, since there's no current mod integration for it
    • No need for pointless armor init messages about it
  • Fixed Etching Tank not accepting etching acid (introduced in 8.0.2)
  • Fixed client crash with Pneumatic Helmet block tracker and hacking
  • Fixed drone Entity Import being able to pick up players in spectator mode
    • Additionally, the @player entity filter no longer matches players in spectator mode

  • Forward-ported from 1.20.1 internal changes to Empty PCB items to make it possible for addon mods to add custom empty PCB's
    • UV Lightbox and Etching Tank now accept any item which extends EmptyPCBItem
    • Added EmptyPCBItem#getSuccessItem() and EmptyPCBItem#getFailedItem() which are used by the Etching Tank to determine the successful/failed etching outcomes

Fixed

  • Fixed some villager house worldgen issues
    • Fixed the Aphorism Tile being blank and the Display Table lacking a Pneumatic Wrench
    • Fixed (non-fatal) server error regarding an invalid resource location when the Reinforced Chest in a villager house is reloaded
  • Fixed Refinery crash under some circumstances (could not reproduce this myself; added some defensive code changes to hopefully make this impossible)

    • Made pathfinding a bit more lenient in general (drone has a looser idea of "close enough") - needs monitoring for potential side effects
  • Reduced height of Programmer GUI a little, avoid overlap with mods like JEI/EMI with a search textfield at bottom of screen

Changed

  • Initial port to Minecraft 1.21, using NeoForge
  • Programmer GUI size is now dynamic, based on screen resolution
    • 75% of the screen width (allowing space for JEI etc.) and 95% of the screen height
  • Exported drone programs and remote layout JSONs are now formatted much more cleanly
    • This reflects a significant internal overhaul of how these objects are handled; specifically, using codecs to facilitate storage as data components
    • Old programs/layouts are still supported via a legacy conversion system, but programs/layouts written from 1.21+ will not load into older version of the mod

Added

  • Air Canister improvements
    • Doubled capacity of Reinforced Air Canisters
    • Added basic and reinforced Air Canister Arrays, with 4 times the storage of the item (crafted with 4 of the item)
    • Air Canisters (and arrays) can now charge other items in your inventory via switchable charging modes (none/held only/all inventory)
    • Note: Air Canisters don't charge pneumatic armor; use the chestplate with charging upgrades for that
  • Minigun improvements
    • Doubled the ammo capacity in config of all ammo types
    • Increased base damage in config from 4 to 6 (half-hearts per hit)
  • Added a Muffler Upgrade
    • One or more of these in noisy items and blocks (Miniguns, Sentry Turrents, Jackhammers, Jet Boots) quietens down the racket
    • Note that adjusting the volume of these items/blocks is still possible via client config
  • GPS Tool and Area GPS Tool now have quick coordinate adjusting without needing to open the GUI
    • Sneak and scroll the mouse-wheel while holding a tool to adjust the coordinate along the player's facing axis
    • For GPS Area Tool, sneak and right- or left-click in the air to set the coordinate which will be adjusted

Minecraft 1.20.4

This release (and all future releases) is built for Neoforge, and will not work on MinecraftForge!

  • Overhauled Redstone Tube Module implementation, improving timing consistency and server performance

  • Fixed server crash if a drone is summoned via commands
    • Drones aren't supposed to be created this way, but also shouldn't crash completely
  • Fixed right-clicking a tube module with a block in hand also wrongly placing the block

  • Fixed Omnidirectional & Liquid Hoppers having their input blocked by partial blocks
    • Now behaves more like vanilla Hoppers, so e.g. a carpet on the hopper doesn't prevent item absorption
  • Fixed Crop Supports not actually doing any growth tick acceleration!
  • Fixed crash on init caused by other mods failing to set a fluid type for their modded fluids
    • Now logs an error instead and shows which fluid was at fault; this fluid will not be usable as temperature-based fuel in compressors
  • Fixed textfield focus problems for Minimum Order Size GUI side tab for logistics frames

  • Added "Allow Drone Pickup" option to the Standby programming widget
    • When checked, drones in standby mode can be picked up by other entities (boats, minecarts...) regardless of the global drones_can_be_picked_up setting

  • Fixed case where equipping a piece of Pneumatic Armor over another piece of Pneumatic Armor didn't trigger a re-init of the armor
  • Fixed missing info for Item Life Pneumatic Armor upgrade in the charging station GUI
  • Fixed keypresses being picked up twice in the Entity Tracker GUI textfield
  • Fixed Pneumatic Armor chestplate charging module wasting air trying and failing to charge stacked Air Canisters
  • Fixed PNC fluids not being replaceable (was impossible to place blocks to fill in an oil lake, for example)

  • Added new area type for the Area progwidget (and Area GPS Tool): Torus
    • Thanks @johalun
    • P1 is assumed to be in the center of the torus
    • When radially symmetric about the Y-axis, the distance between P1 and P2 in the X/Z plane makes the radius of the torus to the center of the tube and the distance in the Y plane makes the radius of the tube
  • Added new API methods to check and set the enablement of Pneumatic Armor upgrades
  • If Pneumatic Boots are on (vanilla) cooldown, flight effects are suppressed
    • When suppressed, the Jet Boots display panel switches stats from green to red, and blinks them
    • This will also happen if you try to fly more than 64 blocks above max build height (so Y > 384 for the overworld)
    • PNC doesn't do this itself, but it adds a hook for other mods to use...
  • Added new "team" modifier for entity filters: checks if the entity is on the given scoreboard team
    • E.g. @player(team=team1) matches players on team "team1"

Fixed

  • When adding custom Heat Properties recipes, no longer require a mod matching the block's namespace to be loaded
    • This allows blocks with custom namespaces to be registered, e.g. via KubeJS
    • Existence of the block in the block registry is still checked for, of course

  • Added missing manual page for the Reinforced Air Canister
  • Fixed a client disconnect/crash when right-clicking certain Logistics frames with the Logistics Configurator
  • Logistics Requester frames now round-robin requests more intelligently when multiple frames are requesting the same resource into their inventories

  • Fixed Jackhammer not breaking blocks when Shift was held
    • Correct behaviour is to break only the focused block (assuming the Jackhammer is in multiblock mode)
  • Fixed Harvesting drone widget not recognising Bamboo as harvestable
    • This 1.19.2 feature got missed in the port to 1.20
  • Fixed Minigun basic ammo wrongly using the armor-piercing damage source
  • Fixed Minigun damage sources have a null direct source entity (meaning the shooter couldn't be reliably identified for aggro or protection purposes)

  • A bit more block atlas cleanup; PNC block model texture now in the pnc_model directory instead of just model (no player-noticeable difference)
  • Fixed Omnidirectional & Liquid Hoppers not correctly processing installed upgrades when placed back down after breaking
    • Upgrades were still present but having no effect until manually removed and replaced
  • Stop server warnings about not finding trades when setting up random Amadron villager trades

  • Vortices from the Vortex Cannon can no longer affect the player's speed more often than every 10 ticks, by default
    • Adjustable in common config; see vortex_cannon_player_boost_rate
    • This limit was added since over-fast speed modifications can cause server performance issues

Fixed

  • Optimised block shape calculations a lot, meaning shorter mod startup time
  • Cleaned up block atlas usage a bit; don't put entity textures on there unless they're needed for item textures (i.e. drones)
  • Fixed an arithmetic error in the "Random" area type and areas of a single block thickness in any axis
  • Fixed a recipe error causing the vanilla Copper Block -> 9 Copper Ingot recipe to be overwritten

    • "aquatic", "undead", "arthropod", "illager": all yes/no, e.g. "@living(aquatic=yes)"
    • "type_tag" to check for entity type tags as defined in datapacks, e.g. "@mob(type_tag=minecraft:skeletons)"
    • "entity_tag" to check for entity tags as added with the /tag command, e.g. "@player(entity_tag=marked_player)"
  • Added a couple of methods to prevent Aerial Interface usage by dimension or player
    • Configurable dimension blacklist: aerial_interface_dimension_blacklist in pneumaticcraft-common.toml
    • Check for an entity tag (see /tag command) on the player of pneumaticcraft:no_aerial_interface

Added

  • Added a visibility checkbox to the Pneumatic Armor upgrade GUI for all upgrades which display stat panels
    • Hiding stat panels for those upgrades you don't want to see is now easy
  • Added control over which messages are displayed on armor startup
    • Can show component init messages for all components (the default), enabled components only, or no init messages at all
    • Can be set in client config, and also via the "Core Components" armor GUI

  • Added two security-related drone config settings:

    • allowTeleportToProtectedArea: allow drones to teleport into areas protected by someone else's security station
    • Both are true by default, but PvP servers might benefit from having these set to false
  • Speed upgrades in an Assembly Controller now reduce the Assembly Drill's braking time (previously it ignored speed upgrades when slowing down at the end of its cycle)
  • Crafting an Air Compressor or Liquid Compressor into its advanced version now preserves any air, fuel and upgrades in the compressor (thanks @ChiefArug)
  • Adjustable fluid filters in Logistic Frame GUI's now show the fluid amount even when it's 1 bucket of fluid
    • Makes it clearer that it's an adjustable amount

[4.3.0]

New

  • Added new Solar Compressor, thanks @Daniel0Widing
    • Generates compressed air from sunlight. While generating compressed air, it also generates heat, proportional to how much compressed air is being generated.
    • The efficiency of the compressor increases with its heat up to 350ºC. At that point the compressed air and heat generation remain constant up to 425ºC, at which point the compressor overheats, dumping all accumulated heat and shutting down. In order to restart the compressor, a Solar Wafer has to be right-clicked on it, consuming the wafer.
    • The compressed air production of the compressor is roughly equivalent to the Flux Compressor. The trade-off for getting free compressed air is that the Solar Compressor only works during the day and requires a puzzle-like solution to keep it stable at max efficiency (confirmed possible with max speed upgrades using default configuration).
  • Added new Manual Compressor, thanks @Daniel0Widing
    • Generates compressed air from manual labor (right-clicking) and player hunger.
    • Generates a fixed amount of air each pump cycle, but the more air in the compressor, the longer each compressor cycle takes.
    • Impossible to generate air at pressure greater than 5 bar.

Updates

  • Added a new allow_navigate_to_unloaded_chunks config setting, default false
    • When false, Drones may not navigate (including teleportation) into unloaded chunks
    • Setting this to true can cause server instability, including lockups, so beware

Fixes

  • The /pncr global_var delete command now accepts arbitrary strings, in case bad variable names were accidentally added via GPS Tool GUI
  • GPS Tool (and Area Tool) GUI now only allows alphanumeric and underscore characters in variable names
  • Fixed Biodiesel lacking a bucket item and in-world block
  • Fixed Universal Sensor GUI textfield flickering between focused and unfocused for some sensor types
  • Fixed crash with certain invalid entity filter input
  • Fixed entity filters not being able to match players by name, using quoted "player_name" syntax (worked for named entities, but not players)

  • New armor upgrades:
    • Ender Visor: Pneumatic Helmet upgrade (toggleable) to prevent Enderman aggro
    • Gilded: Pneumatic Armor upgrade (any slot) to prevent Piglin aggro
    • Stomp: Pneumatic Boots upgrade: when active, if you hit the ground hard enough to engage the normal fall damage reduction, you also damage nearby mobs proportional to how fast you were moving (uses extra air per mob damaged)
  • New Tube Junction block, allows two separate lines of Pressure Tubes to cross without connecting to each other

    • Rotates all Coordinate widgets which look like offsets 90 degrees; useful if you've downloaded a program from pastebin and want to orient it a different way
    • "Looks like offset" means it's a coordinate that's being added to another coordinate with a variable that was set in the very first Coordinate of the program.
  • Maximum screen roll when flying with Jet Boots is now configurable in client config
    • Default max is 35 degrees - configurable from 0 (no roll) up to 90 (bring your travel sickness pills)
  • Villager houses now use Compressed Stone rather than Reinforced Stone in their construction
    • This makes them look more like they used to (before the 2.15.0 retexture)

    • Greatly reduces the need for auxiliary input/output inventories and tanks when using logistics with machines
    • The side can no longer be changed via the GUI; you will need to detach and replace a frame to change its side
    • Rendering has been altered to show a frame only on the side that the frame was placed on
  • Logistics Frames now have independently-settable item and fluid white/blacklisting
    • In addition, the button to switch white/blacklisting is now on the main GUI, not the Filter side tab
  • Logistics Frames GUI: clicking a fluid-containing item (e.g. bucket or tank) on a liquid filter slot will now copy the contained fluid into that slot

    • If you see cases of drones getting stuck & teleporting around particular blocks, please raise a github issue so I can investigate

    • All core Amadron trades (e.g. PCB Blueprint or Emeralds to Lubricant) remain unlimited and can be bought as many times as you want
    • Limited trades are refreshed once per Minecraft day (when trades are reshuffled)
    • Custom trades (loaded from datapack) can take advantage of this with the "maxStock" JSON field. Set to -1 or omit entirely for unlimited trades.

    • The editor is much more powerful now (supports horizontal cursor positioning, joining/splitting lines & more...)
    • The Aphorism Tile can now display one or more items instead of, or in addition to, text lines
    • Use {item:<item-id>}" on a line on its own to show an item, or use the friendly GUI item searcher to add an item
    • The string {redstone} anywhere on a line will be substituted with the redstone signal level for the block behind the tile
      • There's also a GUI button to insert this string
    • Tile margin width can be adjusted now, via GUI slider
    • The tile can be now made invisible via GUI checkbox, showing only the text and/or items on the tile
  • Elevator pressure mechanics (for stacked elevators specifically) have been reworked
    • All lower Elevator Bases in a stack now have their own air storage, unlike previous versions where they just "proxied" the top elevator in the stack
    • The old system never worked well and was just too bug-prone
    • If you have stacked elevators, you will likely notice a one-time pressure drop after upgrading to this release, due to the extra air storage
    • On the plus side, you now effectively have a bunch of free volume upgrades! Pressure will drop more slowly as air is used.
    • Also, raised the default elevator max height from 4 blocks per elevator base to 6 blocks per base

  • Drones will now no longer travel (fly or teleport) more than 80 blocks to a Charging Station when low on air

    • Note that very large limits can in theory make drones teleport thousands of blocks away to someone else's base if your own charging stations are unavailable for any reason

Recipes

  • Recipes in general use a lot less iron, especially in the early game. However, more stone will be required (so it's worth smelting up a stack or two of cobblestone before you start on the mod).
    • Added a collection of Reinforced Stone blocks (bricks, slabs, pillars, walls...), made with stone and (a little) Compressed Iron.
      • These are both good for building with (high blast resistance), and are used in many recipes to reduce compressed iron requirements.
  • For modpack makers: all machine recipes are now loaded from datapacks (data/<modid>/pneumaticcraft/machine_recipes/<machine_type/*.json) so can be easily overridden and reloaded on the fly with the /reload command. To remove an existing recipe, simply create a JSON file of the same name in your datapack with an empty JSON document: {}

  • Pressure Chamber
    • The unloved Pressure Chamber Interface filter system is gone. The Interface will now only pull crafted items (there is a button in the Interface GUI to pull everything in case the chamber needs to be emptied).
    • The Pressure Chamber Interface also accepts a Dispenser Upgrade; if installed it will eject items into the world if there is no adjacent inventory. (Note that the interface still auto-pushes items; no need to pull items from it).
    • Several new default recipes, including ways to make slime balls, ice, packed ice, and blue ice
  • Refinery
    • There is now a separate Refinery Controller block in addition to the four Refinery Outputs
    • Refinery Outputs can be stacked beside or on top of the Refinery Controller
    • Outputs only output fluid, never accept it (except from the Controller)
    • Controller only accepts input fluid (Oil by default)
  • Thermopneumatic Processing Plant
    • Can now take recipes which produce an item output in addition to or instead of a fluid output
      • One such recipe is added by default: an Upgrade Matrix taking Lapis and Water, which is used to craft upgrades in a more lapis-efficient way
  • Etching Tank
    • This is a new machine which replaces the old in-world crafting of PCB's with Etching Acid
    • It's faster than the old method of etching PCB's (twice as fast by default, much faster if the tank is heated)
    • With sufficient infrastructure, this can be even faster than using the Assembly System to mass-produce PCB's (but the Assembly System remains a simpler & more convenient option)
    • Separate output slots for succesful and failed PCB's; failed PCB's can be recycled in a Blast Furnace (which also yields a little XP)
  • UV Light Box
    • The GUI now has a slider to set the exposure threshold instead of using redstone emission
    • Exposed items (past the configured threshold) are moved to a new output slot, which can be extracted from using automation
  • Programmer improvements
    • Fix inconsistent zoom out/zoom in behaviour
    • Now possible to merge programs from Pastebin, clipboard or saved items
  • Gas Lift
    • Now uses new Drill Pipe block instead of Pressure Tube
    • Drill Pipe is a non-tile entity block so it's also suitable for decorative building

Plastic

  • Coloured plastic is gone, and so has the Plastic Mixer.
    • There is now only one type of plastic: the Plastic Sheet.
      • Which also means there's only one type of Programing Puzzle Piece, making Drone programming a lot easier.
    • You can make Plastic Sheets by pouring a bucket of Molten Plastic (made in the Thermopneumatic Processing Plant from LPG & Coal as before) into the world. It will solidify after 10 ticks.
    • Alternatively, put a bucket (or tank) of Molten Plastic in an inventory with a Heat Frame attached, and chill the Heat Frame as much as possible (-75C is optimum) for bonus Plastic Sheet output; up to 1.75x.
    • New Plastic Construction Brick™, made from plastic and any dye. Can be used for building; they also damage any entity that steps on them without footwear.

Semiblocks

  • Semiblocks are now entities. No direct gameplay effect, but rendering and syncing of semiblocks should be far more robust now.
    • Semiblocks include crop supports, logistics frames, heat frame, spawner agitators and transfer gadgets.

Storage

  • Added Reinforced Chest - a 36-slot, blast-proof inventory which keeps its contents when broken
  • Added Smart Chest - a 72-slot blast-proof inventory which keeps its contents when broken
    • Smart Chest can also filter each slot to only hold a certain item
    • And close one or more slots, effectively giving the chest a configurable inventory size
    • And push and pull items to adjacent inventories
    • AND eject items like a dropper and absorb nearby items like a vacuum hopper
    • Super powerful, but not the cheapest to make (needs a PCB)
  • Added three new fluid storage tanks, imaginatively title the Small Fluid Tank (32000mB), Medium Fluid Tank (64000mB) and Large Fluid Tank (128000mB)
    • Denser storage than the Liquid Hopper
    • Can be stacked vertically, and combined (with a wrench) into a sort-of-multiblock
    • Has a GUI where items can be inserted to transfer fluid, e.g. buckets, liquid hoppers, memory sticks (see below)

Items & tools

  • Camo applicator right-click behaviour changed a little
    • Right click any non-camo block to copy its appearance
    • Sneak right click to clear camo
    • Right click any camo block to apply (or remove) camo
  • Vortex Cannon
    • Reduced air usage by half
    • Increased crop/leaves breaking range from 3x3x3 to 5x5x5
    • Can now also break webs (very efficiently)
  • Memory Stick (new)
    • Can be used to store and retrieve experience
    • Added a new Memory Essence fluid which is liquid experience (20mB = 1 XP point)
    • Memory Essence can be extracted from a Memory Stick via Liquid Hopper or any machine that can pull fluid from an item (e.g. the new tanks mentioned above)
    • Memory Stick will go in a Curio slot
    • Memory Essence is supported by the Aerial Interface
  • Minigun
    • Freezing Ammo now creates a cloud (like a potion cloud) instead of "ice" blocks. The cloud will freeze and damage entities in it.

Heat System

  • Added new Heat Pipe block, perfect for transferring heat from one place to another.
    • Heat Pipe loses no heat to adjacent air or fluid blocks. Consider it a much more compact alternative to lines of Compressed Iron Blocks surrounded by insulating blocks.
    • Heat Pipe can be camouflaged to run through walls/floors, and is waterloggable.
  • Heat Frame Cooling expanded a little
    • Fluids to be cooled can now be provided with tanks, not just buckets (assuming the tank item provides a fluid handler capability)
    • Recipes can have a bonus output based on the temperature (new Molten Plastic -> Plastic Sheet recipe does this, but the old lava->obsidian and water->ice recipes do not)
  • Campfire is recognised as a heat source, and is better than lighting a fire on netherrack.

Amadron

  • Significant internal rewrite to hopefully fix the various syncing problems encountered in 1.12.2.
  • Villager trades work much as before, but with support for trade levels: higher level trades will appear much more rarely in the random offers list.
  • Player->player trades are still added via the tablet GUI, and are stored in config/pneumaticcraft/AmadronPlayerOffers.cfg.
  • All static Amadron trades are now loaded from datapacks (data/<modid>/pneumaticcraft/amadron_offers) so are much easier to modify or disable. Because of this, adding static/periodic trades via the tablet GUI is no longer a thing.

Villagers

  • You might get lucky and find a Pneumatic Villager house when exploring (there are different houses for each of the five village biomes)
    • These houses have a couple of basic PneumaticCraft tools and machines, and a chest with some handy loot
  • The Pneumatic Villager (Mechanic) has a massively expanded trade list, with some nice trades at higher levels
    • Villager point-of-interest is the Charging Station, so unemployed villagers can become Mechanics
    • Because of this, the old way of creating mechanics in the pressure chamber no longer works

Drones

  • Added two new basic (non-programmable) drones:
    • Guard Drone: attacks any mobs in a 31x31x31 area around where it's deployed
    • Collector Drone: collects nearby items (17x17x17) and puts them in an inventory that it's deployed on or adjacent to. Has some basic item filtering functionality. Can take range upgrades to expand the item collection range.

Logistics

  • Added the ability to filter by mod ID
  • Added support for the Tag Filter item, a way to filter by item tags (the replacement for ore dictionary matching)
    • Use a Tag Workbench (new block) to create Tag Filters
  • Reduced the amount of air used to transport items & fluids, and made the amount adjustable in config (see "Logistics" section in pneumaticcraft-common.toml)

Upgrades

  • Max upgrade amounts are now hard-enforced in machine & item GUIs
    • e.g. if a machine takes a max of 10 Speed Upgrades, it is now impossible to put more than 10 Speed Upgrades in the machine (unlike in 1.12.2 where any number could be added but only 10 were used).
  • Volume upgrades have changed a bit
    • Max volume upgrades in anything is 25.
    • They have diminishing returns as more added: 1 upgrade will double the base volume, 4 upgrades will quadruple it, 25 upgrades will increase the volume by a factor of 10.
  • New upgrades:
    • Jumping Upgrade - replaces Range Upgrade in Pneumatic Leggings
    • Inventory Upgrade - replaces Dispenser Upgrade in Drones
    • Flippers Upgrade - for Pneumatic Boots, swim speed increase
    • Standby Upgrade - for Logistics & Harvesting drones; allows them to go on standby when idle, saving air
    • Minigun Upgrade - replaces Entity Tracker Upgrade in drones
  • Some upgrades are now tiered, meaning there is a different crafting recipe for each tier.
    • Jet Boots Upgrade and Jumping Upgrade are examples of such upgrades.

Tube Modules

  • Regulator Module now by default regulates to 0.1 bar below tube pressure (4.9 for basic tubes, 19.9 for advanced tubes)
    • A full redstone signal will reduce the regulation amount to 0 (acting like a shut-off valve), intermediate signal levels interpolate the regulation level
    • With an Advanced PCB installed, fine-grained control is available as it used to be
  • Safety Valve Module now leaks air at 0.1 bar below tube pressure (4.9 for basic tubes, 19.9 for advanced tubes)
    • Again, adding an Advanced PCB allows fine-grained control, as it used to
  • Redstone Module will now take input from a Pressure Gauge module on the same tube section
  • Tubes with inline modules (the Regulator and Flow Detector) can only be connected to on the two ends of the module
    • no more connecting to a Regulator module on the side (which never worked properly anyway)

Misc

  • Added a Display Table, a simple one-item inventory which displays its held item. For both aesthetic and possible automation purposes.
  • Fuels now have a burn rate multiplier in addition to a "total air produced" amount
    • Diesel burns more slowly now, but produces slightly more air overall
    • LPG burns a little faster, same overall production
    • Gasoline burns significantly faster, same overall production
    • Kerosene is unchanged
  • Kerosene Lamp uses much less fuel now, especially at larger ranges
  • Lots of general GUI cleanup and polishing
  • Updated textures for many items
  • Fluid-containing items (Liquid Hopper, tanks, machines...) now show their contained fluid while in item form
  • Pressure Tubes are now waterloggable

Mod Integration

  • Currently patchy compared with 1.12.2, but the following mods are currently supported:
    • The One Probe
    • WAILA/HWYLA
    • JEI
    • Patchouli (the guide book has been updated to reflect all the new changes)
    • Curios
  • More mod support will be added in future, but this is not likely to happen until the 1.15.2 port.
