The regular "Red Hat Text" font is pretty thin already. Is this request specific to "Red Hat Display"?

Yes it is. I've even changed the title to reflect this.

Thanks for the feedback! The brand team has acknowledged the request but this is not something we can add immediately. I'll leave this issue open for visibility.

I got an idea: why not re-interpolate the Red Hat Display font, using current Regular/Regular Italic as Thin/Thin Italic font?

So, it would be easier to expand the family to 7, 8, or 9 weights.

Edit: However, it would thicken the Regular weight.
