nordic_nrf_mesh_example not found

I found numerous difficulties with the docs on installing and was able to finally figure out ways around them, but I still can't get the example working. My latest challenge is that the example does not exist, or at least is not installed by following the instructions.

flutter pub get
Resolving dependencies... 
Because <appname hidden> depends on nordic_nrf_mesh_example any which doesn't exist (could not find
  package nordic_nrf_mesh_example at https://pub.dev), version solving failed.

I really need this to work so what can I do to help get the example running?
